About Me

I'm Tej Bhoga, a cognition researcher and product designer. I am a recent graduate of Washington University in St. Louis (Class of 2026) with a Bachelors of Arts in Cognitive Neuroscience with minors in Design and Computer Science. My work sits at the intersection of how people think and how we can design the systems they use. I'm drawn to the places where those two things are still poorly aligned.

My background is intentionally interdisciplinary. Cognitive neuroscience gives me a foundation where I have researched how people actually think, remember, and make decisions. Computer science allows me to build complex models that I design. Design gives me the language to translate research into functional and desirable experiences for people to really use. The work I find most compelling asks why people behave the way they do, how we can do something about it, and then getting to work on actually building it.

Outside of design, I've worked as a peer counselor and published independent memory research at WashU's Complex Memory Lab. Both experiences have shaped how I approach users with genuine curiosity about what's actually going on for someone, not just what they report.

I'm looking for roles in UX research, product design, or hybrid research-and-design positions, particularly at teams working on AI products, digital tools, or cutting edge technologies that require understanding how people think. I'm most excited by teams building products that are new and problem-solving, and by problems that don't have obvious answers yet.​​​​​
